Nanoscale Physics & Devices Lab. (NPDL) in Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences was established in 2001, formerly known as Beijing Vacuum Physics Lab., of Chinese Academy of Sciences (since 1985).

The scientific theme of the NPDL is to develop and understand the nanomaterials that address the challenges consistent with national research strategy. For more than 20 years, the Lab has been dedicated to study the fundamental physics related to nanomaterials and their applications in information and energy devices as well.

The researchers in the lab have made series of cutting-edge level of international achievement, including the "Top Ten Science and Technology Progress of China / News " (4 times) and the National Natural Science Award in 2008.

Our laboratory has various state-of-art equipments, including sets of crystal growth and nanomaterials growth system, scanning tunneling microscope, atomic force microscope, optical spectroscope, electrical measurement probe system, metal and oxide thin film deposition system, and functional devices measuring system.
