      Shixuan Du contributed many influential works on the nature of the molecules on substrate systems, graphene, silicene and other two dimensional atomic crystals. She is best known for her studies elucidating the behavior of functional molecules on substrate and particularly determining the rotation mechanism of a molecular ※rotor§. Shixuan served for 11 years as a leader of the theoretical calculation subgroup. She has been recognized for her personal scientific excellence among the international scientific community and been actively involved in scientific research in the theoretical calculation field of the physical and material sciences.
